Actor Gary Busey, 80, has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct stemming from his appearance at the Monster-Mania Convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in August 2022.

During the convention, Busey was accused of inappropriately touching several female fans during photo sessions. Specific allegations include grabbing women’s buttocks and attempting to unfasten a woman’s bra strap while making inappropriate comments.

Following these accusations, Busey was charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual contact, attempted criminal sexual contact, and harassment. When initially confronted by law enforcement, he denied any wrongdoing but later asked officers to apologize to the victims on his behalf and to persuade them not to pursue charges.

In August 2024, two of the women involved filed a civil lawsuit against Busey, alleging sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse. As of April 2025, Busey had not responded to this lawsuit, leading to a default order entered against him. His attorney in the criminal case has stated no involvement in the civil litigation.

Busey appeared via video in a Camden courtroom on March 24, 2025, pleading not guilty to five counts of criminal sexual contact. He also submitted an application for pre-trial intervention, which was pending at that time.

These legal proceedings are ongoing, and Busey has not been convicted in connection with these charges.
